Academic Procession Information for the Ceremony Participants:
Convocation is Penn's traditional welcome for the Class of 2029, and will take place on Monday, August 25, 2025 in Franklin Field.
Invitations to participate in the ceremony's academic procession are sent out in mid-July to faculty, select administration, trustees, and select student leaders. The invitation contains a link to register to process and sit on the stage during the ceremony. The academic procession will assemble at 6:30 p.m. in Rockwell Gym in the Tse Center (located next to the Palestra). The procession will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. and proceed to Franklin Field. The ceremony will begin at 7:15 p.m. and will conclude by 8:15 p.m. Participants must wear academic regalia, and the regalia can be ordered when you sign up using the link provided on the invitation. Other than religious coverings, only school issued robes and regalia, with no additional adornment or added messages, will be permitted. Signs and flags will also be prohibited.
